The counsellor helps the individual gain insight, develop coping strategies, and work toward personal growth, emotional well-being, or specific goals (like managing anxiety, improving relationships, or coping with grief).
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling is a form of therapy where two people in a romantic relationship work with a trained therapist to address issues affecting their partnership. This helps the couple communicate better, understand each other’s perspectives, and resolve conflicts in a healthy way. It's a space where both partners can openly discuss their concerns—whether related to communication problems, trust issues, intimacy, or differing life goals—while learning new tools and strategies to strengthen their relationship.
Family Counselling
Family counseling is a therapeutic process where a trained counselor works with family members to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships within the family unit. It’s often used when families face challenges like misunderstandings, behavioural issues, divorce, grief, or major life transitions (like a move or a child leaving for university). During sessions, family members are encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space, and the therapist helps them identify unhealthy patterns and develop more effective ways of interacting. The goal is to improve family dynamics, promote understanding, and help everyone involved work together to achieve harmony and support each other’s emotional well-being.
